Rukmini Devi Public School provides a comprehensive education to learners of all ages and levels. Subjects offered include Performing Arts: Music (Instrumental Music and Vocal Music), Dance , Visual Art (Art and Craft) and Theatre for the holistic development of the child.
Art is an act and a process of making materials work which from concept to creation hold fidelity to the creative impulse. It may be interpreted in different ways often relating to creativity, aesthetics and generation of emotion, but this always allows a person to express his/her feelings and thoughts freely without any boundation of time or material.
The Visual and Performing Arts policy of the school emerges from international, cross-disciplinary work that takes a wider, holistic approach in researching the dynamic role of music and the arts in social life and cultural experience. Cutting-edge work in this area shows the inculcation of aesthetic experiences and artistic forms

Art and Craft :
The visual arts, including painting, drawing, and crafts, play a vital role in a child's development. RDPS encourages early engagement in art and craft, which fosters creativity and refines core skills, ultimately boosting academic performance. Key benefits includes the development of fine motor skills, improved hand-eye coordination, enhanced self-expression, and increased confidence. Additionally, these activities promote socialization and sharpen decision-making skills, all while being enjoyable for children.
Vocal music:
Music is a way to express our feelings like patriotism, devotion etc.
It is a language itself. Every corner in our life, it exists in its own
shape. It is very much needed in a student's life. It brings mental
freshness, inspiration and many other affirmative aspects to their
mind.
Our students are taught different genres of Vocal Music during
their regular period followed by the syllabus which covers up the
important theoretical and practical aspects of Vocal Music.
Instrumental Music:
Our students are provided the opportunity to enhance their ability through the study of Instrumental Music and playing in ensembles following a standard syllabus throughout the year.
Students learn countless lifelong skills that help them develop into intelligent and creative leaders.
They also improve their physical motor skills by honing their abilities at a variety of swar and percussion instruments. Instrumental Music helps the body and the mind to work together.
Dance:
Indian classical and folk dance forms are taught to the students by following a certain syllabus throughout the session as specialized subjects.
This learning procedure determines certain benefits along with learning the subject as it enhances aerobics fitness and the beauty of different postures and gestures. Both dance forms improve concentration, endurance, flexibility and body balance. This procedure helps in controlling weight, boosting stamina and blood circulation which gets you closer to a healthy heart.
Dramatics:
Theatre in education teaches an important means of stimulating creativity in problem-solving and develops tolerance and empathy. It can challenge students' perceptions about their world and themselves.
Theatrical exploration can provide students with an outlet for emotions, thoughts and dreams that they might not otherwise have the means to express.
Like all art forms, drama allows students to communicate and understand others in new ways.
The theatre society of RDPS, "Parakram", plays a monumental role in preparing students to live and work in a world that is increasingly team-oriented rather than hierarchical.
"The future of our nation depends on our ability to create and to be creative. During the coming decades, our most important national resources will be human resources. If our nation is to continue to meet the challenges of the future, today's schools need to develop creative leaders."
